Accomplish Your Writing and Publishing Dreams with Tolulope Popoola
If so, you’re in the right place! We teach live online creative writing classes for young writers aged 10 to 15!
Founded in 2016 and designed for young writers aged 10 to 15, our club is the perfect place for young minds to explore the world of writing, improve their skills, and have fun while doing it. Whether your child is already a budding writer or simply curious about crafting stories, we’ll help them grow into confident creators.
Here’s why parents and students love our Creative Writing Club:
Build confidence in creativity
Your child will learn to trust their ideas and turn them into imaginative and intriguing stories. They’ll gain the tools to brainstorm effectively, think outside the box, and express themselves with clarity and flair.
Master writing skills
From spelling and grammar to punctuation and structure, we’ll help your child sharpen the fundamentals of writing while developing their unique voice.
Explore a world of genres
Each month, students dive into both fiction and non-fiction writing, experimenting with various styles and genres to discover what excites them most.
Give and receive feedback
At the end of every class, students are encouraged to share their work in a supportive, small-group environment. They’ll receive constructive feedback from peers and the tutor, empowering them to improve and grow as writers.
Personalized attention
With small class sizes, every child gets the attention they deserve. We make sure each student feels heard, valued, and supported in their creative journey.
Our students don’t just dream about writing – they make it a reality! Past members of the Creative Writing Club have:
You can see some of their incredible work on our blog, where we proudly showcase the stories, essays, and achievements of our talented students.
Many of the children who join our programmes begin with a simple love of stories. Some are shy about sharing their work. Others have lots of ideas but don’t know how to develop them. But with time, their confidence grows, their ideas start flowing freely, and they can express themselves without feeling shy anymore!
Here are a few examples of stories written by young writers who have participated in our creative writing programmes.
Every published story here began with an idea and every confident writer started as a beginner.
Who knows? The next story featured here could be your child’s!
Our Creative Writing Club helps children:
Writing isn’t just about stories, it’s about giving children the confidence to use their voice.
Help your child transform their love of words into a lifelong skill and passion. The Creative Writing Club isn’t just a class – it’s a community of storytellers, dreamers, and future authors.
Spaces are limited to keep our sessions engaging and interactive. Don’t miss out – enrol now and watch your child’s creativity soar!
Your child can’t wait for Saturdays or Sunday to show off their written work. They’re filling notebooks with ideas. They’re reading more. They’re speaking more confidently in school and at home, and even their teachers have noticed. They’re proud of what they’ve created. And you’re watching them discover talents you always knew were there.

My name is Tolulope Popoola and I’m the founder and coach for the Creative Writing Club.
I started writing stories when I was six years old.
I believe every young writer deserves someone who takes their ideas seriously.
I’m an author, publisher, writing coach and founder of Accomplish Press, and for more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of helping children and teenagers discover just how much they can do with their imagination.
I started the Creative Writing Club because I wanted young people who love stories to have something I would have treasured as a child: a welcoming space where their creativity is encouraged, their ideas are valued, and they can learn the craft of writing without being afraid of getting things wrong.
Since launching the Club in 2016, I’ve worked with young writers with very different personalities and abilities. Some arrive overflowing with stories. Some are avid readers who have never considered themselves writers. Others are quiet, hesitant to share their work, or simply need someone to help them believe that their ideas are worth developing. Watching that confidence grow is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
Our students have gone on to write and publish books, win writing competitions, start blogs and creative projects, and share their ideas on wider platforms. But I’m just as proud of the quieter victories: the child who finally volunteers to read their story aloud, finishes something they once thought was too difficult, or announces excitedly, “I know what I’m going to write next!”
As a published author, I bring real-world writing and publishing experience into the classroom. But when I’m teaching your child, my focus isn’t on my achievements, it’s on theirs.
I want every student to leave the Creative Writing Club becoming a stronger writer, but also feeling more confident, imaginative and excited about what they are capable of creating.
The Creative Writing Club sessions are held in our virtual classroom on Zoom. So the good news is – no matter where you’re based, your child can be a member of our club! The Creative Writing Club is not another English lesson. There are no exam papers, grades or pressure to produce one “correct” answer.
Instead, children are given permission to imagine, experiment, take creative risks and discover their individual writing voice.
We teach real writing techniques and naturally help children strengthen areas such as vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction and written communication. But these skills are developed through the excitement of creating something of their own.
So while the Club can complement what your child learns at school, its purpose is much broader:
We want children to become better writers, but we also want them to enjoy being writers. We use an interactive fun quiz at the end of the term to judge their learning, not exams.
Absolutely. Your child doesn’t need to arrive as a confident or accomplished writer. That’s what we’re here to help them become.
Some children join us bursting with ideas but unsure how to turn them into stories. Others love reading and imagining characters but lack confidence when it comes to putting their own words on the page.
Our supportive approach helps children develop their skills gradually, without pressure or comparison. We celebrate ideas, effort and progress while giving each young writer practical techniques to help them improve.
Over time, we often see children become more willing to experiment, share their ideas and feel proud of what they’ve created.
Not at all. The Creative Writing Club welcomes both beginners and young writers who already enjoy writing regularly.
Activities are designed so that children can participate at their own level. A beginner might be learning how to structure their first complete story, while a more experienced writer might be challenged to create deeper characters, stronger descriptions or more sophisticated plots.
What matters most is that your child is willing to learn, experiment and use their imagination.
No. We understand that every child has a different personality and level of confidence.
Students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and share their ideas, but we don’t want a child to feel anxious or embarrassed because they’re not ready to read their writing aloud.
Our aim is to create a safe, friendly environment where confidence can develop naturally.
For some children, one of the loveliest parts of the journey is watching them move from quietly listening during their first few sessions to eventually volunteering: “Can I read mine?”
That confidence matters just as much to us as the writing itself.
The Creative Writing Club goes far beyond simply asking children to “write a story”. Throughout the term, we explore different aspects of creative writing and storytelling, helping students understand how good writing actually works.
Depending on the term’s programme, topics may include story ideas, character development, setting, plot and conflict, dialogue, description, narration, poetry, fiction and non-fiction, vocabulary, grammar and editing.
Students also complete practical writing exercises and challenges so they can immediately apply what they’re learning.
Along the way, they’re developing valuable wider skills including communication, creativity, critical thinking, self-expression and confidence.
Not at all! We welcome children who announce that they’re going to become authors one day. Some of our students have gone on to write books, enter competitions and pursue exciting creative projects.
But becoming an author isn’t a requirement. Your child might simply love reading, enjoy inventing characters or need a creative outlet. They might want to improve their writing for school or become more confident expressing their ideas.
Creative writing develops skills children can carry into many areas of their education and future lives. And if they decide they want to write a book one day, we’ll be delighted to help them take that dream further.
Our sessions aren’t designed for children to sit silently watching someone talk at them for two hours. Creative Writing Club sessions are live, interactive and participatory. We use discussions, questions, creative exercises, writing prompts, challenges, brainstorming and opportunities to share ideas and writing.
The online format also means children can join a community of young writers beyond their immediate neighbourhood, including students from different parts of the UK, US, Canada, Asia, Caribbean, Europe and more.
For children who rarely meet other people who get excited about characters, books and imaginary worlds, finding their creative tribe can be something special.
Yes. Feedback and encouragement are important parts of helping children develop as writers. Students have opportunities to share their work each week, ask questions and receive constructive guidance on how they can strengthen their writing. Feedback is given by the coach and their peers too.
Our feedback is designed to encourage rather than discourage. We want children to understand what they’re already doing well while also learning practical ways to improve. The goal isn’t to produce perfect writing every week. It’s to help each child become a stronger, more thoughtful and more confident writer over time.
Yes! We’re delighted to welcome young writers from outside the UK.
For our September 2026 intake, we’re expanding the Creative Writing Club with a new 6.00pm to 8.00pm (UK time) weekend session, making it much more convenient for families in the United States and Canada to participate.
Because the Club takes place online, your child can learn, write and connect with other young storytellers from the comfort of home.
Please check the equivalent time in your location when registering, particularly as time differences can change during the year.
We understand that family life happens. Events come up, and occasionally you may have other commitments.
If your child needs to miss a class, please let us know as soon as possible.
Your child can attend a different slot that weekend, for example: if they usually attend on a Saturday but they are unavailable, they can attend the Sunday class instead. We can also send you the recordings and class slides for that week.
We do encourage regular attendance wherever possible because the greatest benefits come from participating consistently throughout the 13-week programme.
Your child can try it before you “buy”!
We offer a one-week free trial so your child can experience the Creative Writing Club before you commit to the full term. They’ll have an opportunity to meet us, experience the teaching style, participate in the activities and get a feel for our community of young writers.
You’ll then be able to make your decision based on how your child actually felt about the experience.
If they finish the session bubbling over with ideas and asking when they can come back, you’ll probably have your answer.
There is no minimum number of terms your child needs to attend. Each 13-week term is a complete programme, so you can start with one and decide afterwards whether to continue.
However, creative writing develops through regular practice. Each term introduces new topics, techniques, genres and writing challenges, so returning students continue learning rather than repeating the same material.
Some children join us for one term, while others stay for several terms or even years because they enjoy developing their skills and being part of our young writers’ community.
Start with one term and see how your child grows.
That’s wonderful, and we’d love to help them keep progressing.
If your child is already writing confidently, working on a book or longer manuscript, entering competitions, or is ready to take their writing more seriously, they may benefit from the Young Author Accelerator Programme instead.
The Accelerator provides more focused support for ambitious young writers who want to develop and complete substantial writing projects, strengthen their craft and work towards specific writing goals.
Every young writer is different, and you may be wondering whether the Creative Writing Club is the right fit for your child. We’d be happy to help.
Contact us via WhatsApp on the button below or email writingclub@accomplishpress.com with your questions or alternatively, you can book a free trial and let your child experience the Club for themselves.
Their next great story could be closer than you think!
